The 66th Miss Universe just wrapped up and many have already posted their “‘wag muna magpaparlor statuses” because Miss Philippines Rachel Peters didn’t make the top 5. Geez, gay people have other professions too, you know. Anyway, like last year and the year before that, Amiciness transcribed all the Q and A from the most awaited pageant in the universe as accurately as possible. I thank you.
Miss Universe Top 5 Q&A
The 92 candidates of the 2017 Miss Universe (the highest attendance in the pageant’s history) were whittled down to the Top 16 for the swimsuit round, down to the Top 10 for the evening gown round, and to the Top 5 for the all-important Q&A. The last 5 standing were: South Africa, Venezuela, Thailand, Jamaica and Colombia. Here’s how they answered the Q&A:
The Miss Earth Organization has crowned the new Miss Earth 2017! The Philippines wins its 3rd Miss Earth crown in just 4 years, for a total of 4 Miss Earth victories since the pageant started. That’s quite the extraordinary feat in the beauty pageant world. It seems like it all came down to the round dreaded by the candidates, but much-loved by pageant fans worldwide: the final Q&A.
Check out the Top 4 girls’ answers to the final Q&A and the rest of the Miss Earth 2017 results after the cut:
The 65th Miss Universe is already over but the Miss Universe fever in the Philippines has not subsided yet. It has been a tradition here at Amiciness to have a go at answering the Q&A questions of the major beauty pageants; may it be for Miss Earth, Miss World, Miss International, and of course, Miss Universe. You’ve already read what the candidates have to say and how they fared in the 65th Miss Universe Q&A. But now, let’s find out how Amiciness answers. Remember, this is all for fun (and for my own intellectual stimulation). Starting with the first question…
Q: “What is the most significant change you’ve seen in the world in the last 10 years?”
Good morning Philippines and good evening New York! Amiciness went on a vacation leave today but not to travel. I skipped the office to live blog the 65th Miss Universe live from SM MOA Arena, Manila, Philippines (*channels inner Ariella Arida*). I spent the night watching Miss Universe specials of Kapuso MoJessica Soho to Gandang Pinay (hosted by Miriam Quiambao). HAHA! Needless to say, I’m all pumped up to know who will be the next Miss Universe. Good luck to all 86 beautiful ladies!
Word has it that instead of 12 semi-finalists, 13 ladies will be chosen to move on to the next round. The 13th finalist would be candidate with the most number of Twitter and app votes, which totaled to 213 million votes world wide as of yesterday. I’m not an expert in pageants but here are my personal faves. *update* I just noticed that many of them are from asian countries. HAHA. Go Asia!
The 65th Miss Universe just keeps on surprising. Past Miss Universe queens will be gracing the most beautiful night in the universe. It’s like a homecoming of queens held in a country obsessed with beauty pageants, nonetheless. It’s like when Comic-Con announced that Hodor was coming to Manila. The excitement, the panic… everything is so surreal! I can’t wait for Mondaayyyyy!
*breathes* Okay. I’m OK now. These confidently beautiful pageant legends are the stars aligning in our country next week. Okay, enough “universe” references!
The finals night of Miss World 2016 just concluded a few hours ago, and it has been a somewhat shocking turn of events. It’s the first time in a long time that the contest was held in the United States. But of course, here at Amiciness, I’m going to focus on everyone’s favorite portion: the final Q&A. And this year’s Q&A includes a curious twist. Previous Miss World queens get to ask questions to the Top 5 vying for the title and crown of Miss World 2016. Interesting. Let’s see how the Top 5 answered:
Miss International 2016 has been crowned and, after three short years, the Philippines has won the Miss International crown again. Kylie Verzosa seemed to have impressed the judges (and the Japanese public) not only with her beauty but also with her wit, which was in full display during her final speech. Let’s look at how the Top 5 girls fared, in the order that they gave their final speeches:
After a back-to-back win for the Philippines, we now have a new Miss Earth 2016! And it is Miss Ecuador Katherine Espin. But, of course, dear readers we all know our favorite part of these beauty pageants. And that is the Q&A round. Let’s see how the candidates fared answering the final question and showing their love for Mother Earth.
Miss Universe mania is not yet over. The whole nation is still on a high with our latest and third Miss Universe from the Philippines, the #ConfidentlyBeautiful with a heart, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. It took us 42 Miss Universe Philippines candidates before we found one that would bring the Miss Universe crown home. Amiciness took a look back at the 10 most recent Philippine representatives to Miss Universe, starting with our 2006 rep. Who reigned supreme and climbed to the top? (Oops sorry! Wrong franchise. 😉 ) Here are the 10 most recent Miss Universe Philippines candidates ranked. Starting with…
The Miss Universe 2015 pageant was full of twists and turns this year. But before all of that drama with the announcement and crowning of the winner happened, the audience got treated to a showcase of the candidates’ wit and grace under pressure in the Miss Universe 2015 Q&A. Let’s see how the finalists fared and how I, Amiciness, answer these questions:
